Julie Strifler is a Canadian producer and founder of Slate Nine, a film production company committed to impactful storytelling with international reach. With a background spanning creative producing, marketing, sales, and distribution, Julie brings a uniquely strategic perspective to every stage of filmmaking.

Her recent producer credits include the romantic comedy YOUNG WERTHER, starring Alison Pill, Douglas Booth, Iris Apatow, and Patrick J. Adams (TIFF 2024), and the heartfelt comedy SUZE, set for U.S. theatrical release in 2025. She also produced EASY LAND (TIFF 2019), which sold to Crave and HBO Europe, and served as Associate Producer on the David Bowie biopic STARDUST (Tribeca 2020), the home invasion thriller SEE FOR ME (Tribeca 2021), and the crime thriller THE SILENCING (SXSW 2021). Additional screen credits include RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE (Fantastic Fest 2019) directed by Jay Baruchel, RUN THIS TOWN (SXSW 2019) starring Damian Lewis, and A24’s SHARE (Sundance 2019).

Julie has held positions with Shaftesbury, Wildling Pictures, Canadian distributor Mongrel Media, CBC, and the Toronto International Film Festival. She is an alum of the Canadian Film Centre’s Producers Lab, the Rotterdam Lab, and Queen’s University’s Film and Media program. In 2019, she was nominated for the Indiescreen Award for Emerging Producers.
